Regulations of the Éire O'Vision Song Contest 2027 - Dublin

§1 - Application for the contest

            §1.1 - Application

Every mentor that participated in the first Éire O'Vision Song Contest has the prerogative right to confirm his/her application for the county he/she took part with in 2026. The deadline to confirm the participation for the same country for another year is set on 17/05/2026. After the deadline has past, everyone has the right to send an application for the county. The 75 mentors are already informed via PM or email. Once the country has been taken it appears on the official website eireovision.blogspot.com. The 75 mentors from 2026 have a guaranteed spot in the edition of 2027 despite chosing another new country.

After the first deadline has passed there is another deadline set on 30/08/2026 for any other person who is interested in participation of Éire O’Vision 2027. Every country that have not been chosen is available for participation. The maximum number of applications for Éire O’Vision 2027 is limited to 89 countries as there are no semi-finals planned.

§1.2 - Confirmation

Every mentor will receive a confirmation of the country he/she applied for. If there are more than one mentor asking for a certain country, the time of receipt of the application is decisive. Ultimately, it is up to the organizer to allocate the countries to the mentors.

§1.3 - Song Selection

After all countries have been selected the deadline to submit an entry is set on 15/12/2026. Every entry of a participating country must be sung by a citizen of the country he/she/they represents. Otherwise the song must be sung in one of the official languages of that country. For example: Cyprus - the participating act is not native and does not hold the Cypriot citizenship but the song is sung in Greek, the song is eligable to participate in the contest. If the song from Andorra is sung in English and the performer is from Spain, the song is not valid according to the rules. Once the jury chairman received a PM or email, you can be sure that everything about your act is according to the rules.

§1.3 - Announcement Of The Songs

In the end of 2026 all songs will be published in a short sneak peak first. The full versions of all songs will be available on 01/01/2027. If there is anything unclear or a song is not permitted to take part the organizer will contact the jury chairman directly.

§2 - Guidelines and Values

§3 - National Juries

            §3.1 - National Jury Members

The national Jury of Each country will at least consist of two jury members, the Chairman who is responsible for the whole participation and one other person that is nominated by the jury chairman. The maximum number of jury members per country is limited to four. Once all jury members have been selected, the organizer of Éire O’Vision will receive a complete list of all jury members (now called J2 to J4).

§3.2 - Jury Members

Every jury member will listen to all the participating songs and will create its own and independent ranking. A voting sheet will be published later on. Please vote your top 15 songs. Once every Jury member has created its own voting, the total amount of points will be calculated together and a final national voting will be generated by the jury chairman. Every jury member will make its own decision independent and secretly from everyone else. There is no open discussion about the ranking with other jury members. You can discuss about your favorites but not the exact number of points to give out.

§3.2 - Voting Procedure Per Jury Member

Every jury member will select its personal Top 15 and rank them. The deadline to create a voting and submit it to your national jury chairman is set 07/02/2027. The jury chairman will add all valid jury votes to a total rank of the national jury and give 20 points to the entry that received the most points in total. The second-most voted song will receive 18 points, the third-most voted song will receive 15 points then 12 points and so on down to one point. Every national jury will give out points to 15 entries. Despite only these Top 15 will receive points it is necessary to submit the full voting sheet with all entries below in case any participating country will be disqualified during the contest or voting time slot. In this case the 16th ranked country will automatically jump into the points. If there will be more difficulties it will be commented by the organizer of Éire O’Vision Song Contest.

§3.3 - Voting Restrictions

As in any other international competition you are not allowed to rank your own entry. You can not vote for the country you are participating for. Furthermore you are not allowed to have two or more entries with a tie. In this case the higher vote of the jury chairman will count. If the jury chairman did not give out any points to the tied countries the higher number in single votes will be in charge for the better result. If anything is not clear please contact me. Final voting results of participating nations will be accepted until 07/02/2027. If this is not possible there will be additional time but only if requested.

§3.4 - Irish National Jury

To prevent and avoid bias or direct influence, the Irish jury is required to finalize and submit its assessment one week in advance. The final assessment from the Republic of Ireland is then sent to two members of the reference group, which serves as a form of notarial oversight. The members of the reference group are the mentors from Brazil, Estonia, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Serbia, Scotland, Spain, and Wales.

§4 - Presentation

§4.1 - Final results

Once all national jury votes are in they will be calculated and validated by the organizers of Éire O’Vision Song Contest. The preparation of the voting presentation will take some time. We expect to start the voting presentation on 16/02/2027. There will be a point-by-point-reveal until we have found the first winner of Éire O’Vision Song Contest 2027. The voting will be splitted into five sequences just in last years contest.

§4.1 - Scoreboard

The countries will announce their points according to the running order from one to 20 points. In case of a tie the entries will be ranked alphabetically. If there is a tie at the end of the voting sequence on the very top of the competition, the higher number of maximum points will have the final word. If the number of 20 points is equal, the number of 18 points is decisive and so on. In the very unlikely case that all points are equal, the country with the lower slot in the running order will declared the winner.

§5 - Final Quotes

With your vote you agree to these terms and conditions above. We hope everything will work according to plan and we don’t have withdrew any competitors. These rules are valid in English language and could be changed immediately if necessary. If there are any rule changes you will immediately hear directly from the organizer.
